It’s time for Jude and Andrea to have space to breathe in the studio, as well as providing more room for you and our expanded inventory in the showroom.  We’ve found the ideal spot just 48 steps down the street at 322 N. Queen St..  We’ll have 500 more square feet in a beautifully-renovated space (thank you, Ecklin Development).  This historic building was the first home of Lancaster General Hospital.

Our planned opening date in our new space is Wednesday September 12.  We will be closed one day, Tuesday September 11, to make the transition. (Normal hours are Tues.—Fri. 10—5:30 and Sat. 10—4).  Please come by and visit us.

 We prefer to live in the moment, but It’s time to remind you to order your custom gifts for the holidays.   In general, it’s four months for a custom piece from the time the order is placed until it’s in your hands, but for custom pieces that aren’t very labor-intensive, there’s still time to place your order if you come in soon.  Of course, we will have ready-made beautiful and unusual pieces by Jude Sharp, Dana*David, Suzy Landa, Suzy Arrington, Patrick Murphy, Tom Kruskal, Mio Studio and Zina in our cases for immediate purchase.

Fall ArtWalk

Local jewelry artists Mayra Orama Muñiz and Erica Millner, known collectively as Mio Studio, are our featured artists for Fall ArtWalk (Oct. 5—7).  Using exotic hardwoods as an expression of life in organic moving forms, Mayra and Erica have created a line of jewelr y that melds the richly-textured wood with cool metals. Their forms hint at the natural flowing beauty of the lush green mountains of Utuado and the pristine white sand beaches of Vega Baja. They also find inspiration in the sculpture of Henry Moore and Asian art. 

The opening reception will be Friday Oct. 5 5—9 p.m.  ArtWalk continues Saturday Oct. 6 10—5 and Sunday Oct. 7 12—5.  We will continue to carry Mio Studio’s jewelry through the holidays and beyond.
